What
is Radio Rosa ?
Radio Rosa is the Copenhagen
community radio station for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and
transsexuals.
We broadcast every day from 21.30hrs
(9.30pm)and every sunday from 16.00 - 18.00. Most programmes are broadcast LIVE from our studio.
You can listen to us on FM 98.9 in the greater
Copenhagen area. We also are on Cable FM 98.8 in the City of Copenhagen and in Frederiksberg.
We have no plans for audio on the 'Net as our financial situation does not
allow for such expenses (yet).
Hopefully we will some day be able to give you the Radio Rosa experience outside Copenhagen.
We broadcast a wide variety of program
types: Entertainment/talkshows, debate, culture, event schedules,
youth programmes, HIV/AIDS information, programmes for older
listeners... and more.
Currently we have no scheduled English language content.
See our
Broadcast Schedule.
(Sorry, Danish language only)
The radio station is one of the
oldest community radio stations in Denmark (and possibly one of
the oldest gay/lesbian radio stations in the World). We have been
in the Copenhagen airwaves with only one interruption since June 22,
1983. The interruption was caused because we got totally seperated
from LBL and had to start from scratch. The interruption lasted
about 5 months in the years 2007/2008.
Our staff consists of 12 enthusiastic volunteers, who work hard in the studio and the
control room, to give our listeners a queer experience when
lending their ears to the only queer radio station in Denmark.
Radio Rosa was created by the Danish
Natianal Organisation for Gays and Lesbians
(LBL).
Now the radio station is a separate entirely.
The frequency, FM 98.9, is shared
among five community radio stations, which are all run on
non-commercial grass roots basis, totally without salaried
employees or commercial breaks. |
